2016 Spring Events in Williamsburg Virginia

All of the Williamsburg locals are excited to see winter on its way out and spring just around the corner! Our weather forecast for next week has temperatures topping out in the mid-70s and we could not be more excited! With all this good weather on its way, you can be sure to find some great events and festivals to experience all around the Williamsburg area. We’ve compiled a list of some of the events we are most looking forward to attending in March.

Colonial Williamsburg

All areas of Colonial Williamsburg are open to the public! After their renovation in January, there are many new reenactments, shows, tours, and events that you don’t want to miss. And the best part of coming in March is that the winter pricing (almost 50% off!) is in effect up until March 18th. The guests we have staying with us right now report that there are no crowds, no lines, and great prices. Click here to view their website.

Williamsburg Film Festival

The 20th Annual Williamsburg Film Festival is taking place March 9th-11th at the Holiday Inn on Richmond Road. This much loved, western movie event will feature 2 screening rooms for viewing 16mm films on the big screen. There will also be an opportunity to meet and get autographs from some of the biggest western stars from TV and film. Great music, fun merchandise, and a whole lot of western drama await you here! Great for the whole family! Check out their website for more info.

The Williamsburg Home Show

Spring cleaning can also mean spring fix-it jobs! If you love DIY projects or even just need some home improvement advice, the Williamsburg Home Show is for you! This event is taking place March 12-13th at William & Mary Hall and will feature many displays, demonstrations and one-on-one interactions with local home improvement professionals. These vendors range from general contractors all the way to landscaping and gardening. Check out their website for more info.

Ales Through the Ages

Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Trades organization will be putting on a special event to highlight the history of American beer brewing. “Ales through the Ages” is more than mere tasting (although there will be plenty to taste!). This event goes deep into the science and history of ale and features many beer experts, both academic and industrial, from all over the globe. The program event line up is extensive, takes place in the heart of the historic district, and well worth the ticket price! Visit their website for more info on ticket purchase and programs.

Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is reopening for the season on March 20th. This family friendly attraction is an amusement park and zoo all in one! The park features roller-coasters and rides for all ages, animal enclosures with wolves, eagles, and exotic birds, with great food and shopping too. The park is currently running a special for their 2-Park Fun Card. When you buy a ticket to Busch Gardens, you receive a free ticket to their water-park, Water Country USA! This offer is valid until March 15th. Check out their website for more info.

We hope you will check out these fun spring events and enjoy all Williamsburg has to offer before the summer rush sets in!
