A Year In The Life [INFOGRAPHIC] – Bed and Breakfast Statistics 2016

bed and breakfast statistics 2016

Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a bed and breakfast?

Over the past year, we have been gathering data about all the different items used, eaten, and slept on at our small bed and breakfast. Even though we are a small, 4 room inn, you may be surprised to see what goes on behind the scenes!

Enjoy our bed and breakfast statistics from 2016!

Let’s start with our guests!

Over the past year, we’ve welcomed approximately 1640 guests through our doors! Many of them are from the United States, however, we often get guests from other countries. This past year we’ve entertained guests from Ireland, the UK, China, Germany, Canada, France, and even Singapore!

What about breakfast?

Over the past year, our guests have consumed roughly 4920 cups of coffee, 133 pounds of bacon, and 3280 individual eggs. That’s quite a feast!

The favorite breakfast of our guests is our gourmet Grand Marnier french toast. If you’ve never tried it, imagine deliciously sweet french toast, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. What really makes it special is the Grand Marnier orange lacquer custard with a touch of spice. No wonder everyone loves it!

After breakfast, take a stroll in our gardens.

We’re not called “Colonial Gardens” for no reason. Last year, we planted 50 flowers and 8 new rose bushes. Our location is tucked away in the trees, making it the perfect home for many deer. Last year, we spotted 609 deer in our yard! If you put harnesses on them, that would be enough deer to power Santa’s sleigh 68 times over!

Our guests just love the serenity our garden provides. Between our garden weddings and our guests venturing out, we’ve calculated our guests spent about 916 hours in total in our gardens this past year. (If you put it together, that is 38 days!)

With our delicious breakfasts, lovely gardens, and cozy feel make us an amazing romantic destination.

But, don’t take our word for it!

Last year, our bed and breakfast saw 4 guest engagements and hosted 32 wedding ceremonies. With all this romance, we use a lot of flowers every year. In 2016, we used approximately 2160 individual roses! And no celebration is complete without a little champagne. Last year we popped the corks on 269 bottles of champagne. (That’s 54 gallons of bubbly!)

And no bed and breakfast would be complete without the beds.

And those beds need sheets.

In 2016, we washed lots of sheets! We did 2460 loads of laundry. If you break that down, that is around 48 loads of laundry per week, or 7 loads of laundry per day! Our housekeepers work hard to keep our guests in comfort!

In fact, last year, our housekeepers made 820 beds and placed 1640 chocolates on our pillows.

It’ a lot of work, but it’s all worth it! We love seeing each of our guests leave with a smile on their face! We received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2016, with a 98% customer satisfaction rating! Click here to see the reviews on our bed and breakfast!
