Grilled Breakfasts are Practical

While grilling might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of cooking breakfast, it can actually be a really practical way to start your day.

Less Clean-Up: Instead of messing up the kitchen using multiple pots and pans, you can utilize your grill and a skillet. In addition, grilled breakfasts allow things to be a bit more casual, meaning more paper plates and less time doing dishes!

Lower Energy Usage: In the summer, it’s hard enough to keep the heat out of the house, even if you aren’t cooking. We say, if you can’t stand the heat, take your kitchen outside!

Menu Customization: Whether you want to add a grilled side dish, like these delicious Grilled Peaches, to your planned breakfast menu or take the whole meal outdoors, the grill can handle it!

Grilled Breakfasts are Unique

Now be honest…have you ever tried grilling your breakfast? It’s not something we usually think of first thing in the morning. This makes it a special and unique event. It’s a great idea for a summer brunch where you would like to impress and WOW your friends and family with dishes they’ve never tried before. We LOVE this idea for Eggs Benedict Burgers!

Grilled Breakfasts are Delicious

The grill adds an incredible savory dimension of flavor to ingredients. We find that the smoky, flame-kissed notes work well with lots of different items, from sweet to savory.

Veggies: Raw vegetables are not always appetizing first thing in the morning. However, grilling vegetables makes them slightly soft and brings out the natural flavors and sweetness. We love this recipe for Grilled Asparagus and Poached Eggs.

Fruit: Summer time means fresh fruit just waiting for a touch of heat. The grill caramelizes the outside while softening the inside, leaving you with fruit that it sweet, smoky, and savory. We recommend trying peaches, pears, plums, oranges, and grapefruit!

Meat: This one is easy! Try something new like Grilled Bacon, breakfast sausages, ham, or smoke salmon.

Pastries: You might be skeptical of this one, but it works! Baked goods are best warm, so why not warm them up on the grill? We love these inspired ideas for Grilled Espresso Donuts, but bagels, muffins, and even simple sliced baguettes are great, too. Those caramelized grill marks give a satisfying crunch, great on their own or as a base for toppings!

Eggs: Eggs can be a bit tricky to cook on the grill, however once you master the basics, they are worth the effort! You can add them to a skillet on the grill or even put them on top of another item, such as inside Portabello mushroom caps or on top of a grilled breakfast pizza, like this one!
